As our pipeline of work grows, we are seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our multidisciplinary water team in Newcastle. You will be involved in the design engineering of water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, pump stations and conveyance pipelines. Your duties include reviewing design requirements, conducting site investigations, calculations, modelling, overseeing drafting and preparing reports and specifications. You will build strong client relationships and provide solutions and service to clients both off and on site. You will be supported in a collaborative and inclusive environment with opportunities for professional growth and mentorship from experienced engineers.
What You'll Do / Responsibilities
* Contribute to the design engineering of water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, pump stations and conveyance pipelines.
* Review design requirements, perform site investigations, calculations and modelling.
* Oversee drafting and preparation of reports and specifications.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships and provide on-site and off-site solutions and service.
* Collaborate in a multidisciplinary, multi-office project team to deliver results.
What We'll Like About You / Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related engineering discipline.
* Experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design.
* Knowledge of safety in design, constructability and operational practices and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes.
* Knowledge of risk management with the ability to identify project and design related risks.
* Experience in managing small to medium engineering design projects.
* A commitment to working safely and within the company's HSEQ systems.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team.
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to interact with a broad range of audiences.
* Ability to travel as required by work commitments.
