Environment Advisor

Full‐time staff opportunity for an Environment Advisor to join a rapidly growing team supporting oil and gas projects throughout Western Australia. The successful applicant will implement the environmental components of the company's Health, Safety and Environmental Management System (HSEMS), including environmental strategies and plans that focus on exploration, construction and production activities. The role acts as the interface between field operations and regulatory bodies to ensure all activities align with environmental commitments outlined in the HSEMS.

Key Responsibilities
* Participate in the development, engagement and management of Environment Plans, environmental statutory approval applications and supporting documentation and processes to facilitate Hancock Energy's exploration, construction and production activities.
* Participate and advise on Hancock Energy's integration of Environment, Cultural Heritage, Stakeholder, Regulatory Approvals and Permit Management strategies and obligations into planning and implementation of major projects.
* Assist with the maintenance of all environmental and planning related licences, permits, and approvals for gas exploration, production and processing assets to ensure Hancock Energy assets remain compliant throughout their life.
* Assist with the monitoring of and development of reports relating to compliance with obligations contained in Environment Plans, permits and approvals covering matters such as emissions, waste, water, and environmental incident notifications. This will involve coordinating inputs from other teams to ensure accurate and timely submissions and liaising with regulatory agencies on the contents of reports.
* Assist with the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the environmental policies, procedures, and standards and the environmental components of Hancock Energy's HSEMS aligned with ISO 14001.
* Oversee environmental risk assessments, and maintain up to date the assessment of environmental risks in the risk register and environmental obligations in the obligations register.
* Interpret relevant environmental legislation and regulations and provide actionable advice to management teams.
* Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination on relevant environmental matters.
* Identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve Hancock Energy's HSE performance and HSEMS.
* Undertake environmental and regulatory data analysis to identify trends and issues and identify where environment and regulatory risk may be mitigated.
* Assist with the planning and implementation of field based environmental surveys and monitoring programs to support projects, exploration and operational activities (covering topics such as air, water, soil, noise, flora/fauna).
* Assist with environmental incident investigations and reporting.
* Monitor and assist in managing risks related to emissions, land disturbance, water use, waste, hazardous materials, and biodiversity through consultation with internal teams.
* Coordinate and liaise with Hancock Energy contractors and service providers.
* Collaborate and influence Regulators, Joint Venture Partners, industry groups and other stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.
* Remain current and informed on industry standards, legislative developments, innovations and lessons learnt and facilitate adoption where relevant.
Working Conditions

This full‐time position is based out of corporate headquarters in West Perth. Occasional site and remote field activities may be required in the regional WA.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Sound understanding of WA and Commonwealth Environmental legislation, with experience applying GIS related software.
* At least 3 years' experience as an Environment Advisor in the oil and gas sector, preferably onshore.
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management, or a closely related field.
* Strong team player – Able to work in a fast‐growing high performing team to support Hancock Energy achieving its goals.
* Diligent and passion with proven experience in working within a small team environment.
* Excellent interpersonal and open communication skills.
