About the Role
Applus+ Renewable Energy Services is a global leader in technical advisory, engineering, and QA/QC services for renewable energy projects. With over 20 years of industry experience, we support clients worldwide across solar, wind, and energy storage developments.
We are seeking an Environmental Site Supervisor to join our team on a Fraser Coast - QLD based Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable Australian federal, state, and local environmental legislation, development approval conditions, and project-specific environmental policies throughout the construction phase. You will play a key role in promoting environmental best practices on site and supporting our commitment to achieving zero harm.
Principle Duties
* Review and assess contractor environmental documentation including Construction Environmental Management Plans and monthly environmental reports.
* Conduct regular site environmental inspections and audits.
* Monitor compliance with development approvals, licences and local laws.
* Identify, report and manage environmental non-conformances and incidents, including close-out of corrective actions.
* Draft environmental non-conformance reports and contractual correspondence.
* Coordinate and support third-party environmental specialists and contractors for conducting site inspections and audits.
* Attend environmental and project progress meetings and provide regular reporting.
* Maintain authority to stop work where there is serious or imminent environmental risk.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience in environmental supervision on large infrastructure, energy or construction projects.
* Strong knowledge of Australian environmental legislation and approval frameworks.
* Experience on renewable energy (solar and/or BESS) projects desirable.
* Proven inspection, audit and reporting capability.
* Full Australian working rights.
Desirable
* Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or similar.
* Experience dealing with regulators and compliance monitoring
* Proven leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
