The Role

Lead TasWater's surveying capability by driving the development of standards, systems and service delivery that improve the quality, accessibility and integrity of spatial data. You'll provide technical leadership across surveying services, supporting project delivery, informed decision-making and positive outcomes for customers and stakeholders.

In this role, you will
* Develop and maintain TasWater's surveying strategy, systems architecture, processes, schemas and governance to meet current and future business needs.
* Provide a broad range of surveying services including reality capture, RPAS and conventional surveying, along with field-to-finish processing and analysis.
* Manage surveying projects with a high degree of autonomy, including coordination with field personnel and contractors, reporting, and management of project documentation and metadata.
* Provide expert advice on surveying technologies, methodologies, specifications and related disciplines such as service locating and remote sensing.
* Work collaboratively across TasWater to ensure survey projects, specifications and data requirements are fit for purpose and aligned with TasWater information systems.
What we're looking for

You're a skilled surveying professional who combines technical knowledge, leadership and problem-solving abilities to deliver accurate survey outcomes. You thrive in a dynamic environment, work effectively both independently and collaboratively, and are committed to quality and continuous improvement.

* Tertiary qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, Engineering, Science, Information Systems Technology, or a related discipline.
* Proven experience using survey technologies including GNSS, total stations, laser scanners and drones/RPAS.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate and deliver multiple priorities.
* Demonstrated leadership, analytical problem-solving and attention to detail in delivering accurate, high‐quality outcomes.
* Experience with surveying, CAD and GIS platforms (e.g. Civil3D, ArcGIS, Leica or Trimble software); experience in utilities, infrastructure mapping or BIM environments is highly regarded.

The Details

This role can be based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary of $131,265 - $145,850 (inclusive of superannuation).
