Institute for Breathing & Sleep – Director Role
Take the leadership role with the Institute for Breathing & Sleep, a non‑profit independent medical research institute established 25 years ago, whose mission is to promote, facilitate, and coordinate research and education in respiratory and sleep health. The institute comprises researchers, project staff, students, clinicians and administration staff, and has affiliations with Austin Health, Melbourne, Monash, RMIT and Swinburne Universities.
Reporting to a high‑calibre Board of Directors and supported by a small Executive team, the Director will lead the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan; oversee financial performance and commercialisation; administer governance and administration; develop key staff; manage risk and compliance; cultivate strategic relationships; and grow the institute as a leading independent medical institute within the Heidelberg precinct.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan.
* Oversee financial performance and commercialisation activities.
* Administer governance and administrative functions.
* Develop key staff and ensure robust management and risk processes are in place.
* Manage strategic relationships and grow the institute’s profile.
Qualifications:
* Senior management/leadership experience in a complex operating environment, preferably in research, health or higher education.
* Understanding of the current research and innovation environment, including translational research.
* Knowledge of business and management concepts.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain successful relationships with diverse stakeholders.
General Secretary (Anglican Church of Australia)
Assist the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Australia in recruiting the General Secretary, who will assume responsibility for the current incumbent’s retirement in early 2026. The General Secretary reports to the Primate and the Standing Committee.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing the planning and conduct of General Synod sessions and effective implementation of resolutions and legislation.
* Managing the planning and conduct of Standing Committee and Executive Committee meetings and effective implementation of resolutions and directions.
* Facilitating and supporting the work of General Synod Commissions, Task Forces and Working Groups.
* Acting as Registrar to the Primate and coordinating the Primate’s registry.
* Managing the delivery of business services to General Synod bodies.
Required:
* Demonstrated experience in an appropriate field.
* Experience managing an office and developing staff.
* Experience providing high‑level support and advice to a board or council.
* Be a practising Christian.
Desirable:
* Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate field.
* Active membership of the Anglican Church.
Lead Civil Engineer
Expand and lead a general civils team with a leading employee‑owned engineering consultancy specialising in structural, civil and transport infrastructure. The role will contribute to winning and delivering civil design services across urban renewal, property, water, energy, defence and transport infrastructure. Initially reporting to the Civil Lead – VIC & SA, the engineer will enhance the success and growth of the civil engineering capability.
Responsibilities include:
* Winning and delivering civil design services across multiple market sectors.
* Enhancing the success and continued growth of the civil engineering capability.
* Building genuine relationships with key leaders and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
* Serving as the face of the firm’s civil discipline in South Australia.
Qualifications:
* Chartered Civil Engineer (or equivalent).
* 5 to 12 + years’ consulting experience in a comparable winner‑doer role.
Education Lead (Grief and Bereavement Service)
Act as a member of the Senior Management Team, overseeing the strategic development, implementation and monitoring of high‑quality curriculum and education programs offered under an RTO. Report to the Manager Clinical Practice and Education.
Responsibilities include:
* Overseeing content development and delivery of all education and training programs.
* Managing staff and contractors who deliver high‑quality, evidence‑informed learning.
* Providing leadership and expertise in learning design across a range of delivery methods.
* Developing partnerships with universities, relevant health agencies, industry groups and professional organisations.
Qualifications:
* Registered with AASW, APS, PACFA or ACA (level 4). TAE40116: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
* Experience delivering training in grief and loss.
* Strong project management experience.
* Sound communication and administration skills.
* Minimum of two years teaching at a tertiary level or within an RTO.
* A permanent Australian resident.
Chief Executive (Cat Protection Society of Victoria)
Lead this iconic NFP, which has provided a haven to Victorian cats for over 75 years, ensuring high standards of cat welfare and sound corporate governance. Report to the Board.
