Diesel Mechanic Job Description
* Conduct routine maintenance on diesel engines and auxiliary mechanical plant to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
* Identify, report and repair defects using a systematic approach to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
* Undertake tasks such as welding, fabrication, lubrication, hydraulics and machining to maintain and repair diesel generating assets.
* Contribute to and execute daily work plans to meet or exceed project deadlines and deliverables.
* Maintain accurate records by completing administrative requirements and utilizing maintenance management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, overhaul and conduct regular maintenance for all mechanical features of diesel generating assets.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve required availability and reliability targets.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in diesel mechanics or related field preferred.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in diesel engine maintenance and repair; experience with Cummins QSK60 and KTA50 engines an asset.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to identify and report defects efficiently.
* Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and stand for long periods.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
