Senior Mechanical Project Engineer
Location: Tanami Mine Site (FIFO). Roster: 8/6 FIFO - departing from Darwin, Perth or Brisbane. Contract: 6-month initial contract with potential to become permanent. Key Benefit: Owner-side project delivery exposure. Key Essential Skill: Client-side project governance experience.
Role Opportunity
An opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join an owner's team delivering sustaining capital SMP projects across surface and underground mining infrastructure. You will move projects through Prefeasibility, Feasibility and Design stages. You will work closely with stakeholders onsite and manage engineering by third party consultants; you will also prepare scopes of work for the projects. Projects will be a mix of mill processing, mining, and mining support infrastructure capital upgrades.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
* Mechanical project engineering background
* Proven mining infrastructure project experience
* Knowledge of Gold Processing Plants & SMP - 5+ years postgraduate
* Site-based SMP construction project experience
* Underground project delivery exposure
* Strong project governance capability
* Electrical scope understanding
* Experience with CAD and P6 or similar would be an advantage
Duties & Responsibilities
* Ensuring construction compliance with IFC drawing and design intent
* Manage technical queries and field changes
* Overseeing contractor performance and quality
* Developing and approving construction methodologies
* Providing technical resolution of design / construction issues
* Reviewing and approving shop drawing, schedule and QA documentation
* Proactive stakeholder management and communication to foster collaborative relationships
