Project Engineer – Water Industry (Location: Victoria)

Are you a hands‐on Project Engineer who wants more than pushing paperwork and sitting in meetings?
Kings Infrastructure is growing, and we're looking for a Project Engineer to help deliver small to medium water and wastewater projects across Victoria.
This is not a paperwork‐only, corporate role.
You'll be close to site crews, involved from planning through to delivery, and trusted to run your part of the job without micromanagement. If you enjoy problem‐solving, being on site, and seeing projects finished properly — you'll fit right in.
The Opportunity
This role offers end‐to‐end project exposure, not just one slice of the process.
You'll work across a variety of niche, non‐cookie‐cutter projects, often in live operating environments, with a strong mix of site‐based and office‐based work. From day one, you'll be given real responsibility and the support of a capable, fast‐moving team.

What You'll Be Doing
* Delivering water and wastewater projects from start to finish
* Coordinating procurement, RFQs, ordering and supplier follow‐ups
* Managing RFIs, site instructions, variations, and evidence packs
* Supporting QA documentation (ITPs, inspections, test records, handover packs)
* Tracking costs, progress claims and basic budget vs actuals
* Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
* Assisting with short look‐ahead programs and daily planning for site crews

Qualifications
* An engineering qualification (Civil, Mechanical or Environmental) is preferred, but solid construction experience is also highly valued.
* Water industry experience is important (contractor or utility side).
Bonus (Nice to Have, Not Essential)
* Experience with Victorian water authorities
* Knowledge of water industry documentation and hold points
* Confined space / working at heights tickets
* Minor works or schedule‐of‐rates project experience

Hybrid remote in Ballarat VIC. Successful candidate will need to be in this area for at least 1‐2 days per week minimum.
