Midlands Multipurpose Health Centre is located in Oatlands, Tasmania. Oatlands is situated one hour north of Hobart. MMPHC has 18 aged care beds, 4 rural health beds, and an urgent care centre.
The Role:
Ensure a high standard of food preparation for patients, residents, Meals on Wheels, and staff of the Midlands Multi-Purpose Health Centre (MMPHC). The Cook (Non-Trade) is responsible for preparing and delivering meals in accordance with established procedures, processes, and the Food Safety Plan. This includes:
* Meeting the individual dietary needs of patients, residents, community clients, and staff.
* Monitoring the use and storage of food, perishable goods, and other consumables in accordance with the standards set out in the Food Safety Plan.
* Conducting relevant audits within the kitchen/catering environment as per Food Safety Plan, the Continuous Quality Improvement Program, and legislative requirements.
You will need:
* Experience in meal preparation and presentation, including for people with specialised dietary needs.
* Practical knowledge of Work Health and Safety, infection control, food safety, and hygiene practices.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, residents, patients, and staff.

Details of appointment:
Fixed-term, casual, shift work, working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months.
*Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies for up to twelve months from the date of publication.
Salary: $63,110 to $66,049 per annum, pro-rata. Employer superannuation contribution of 11.5% is additional.
Plus 25% casual loading — equivalent to $39.76 to $41.62 per hour.
* Salary in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
Salary Packaging:
Access salary packaging benefits including living expenses up to $9,010, $2,650 in meal entertainment per FBT year, and other benefits if eligible.
