Salary Range: Base Salary $89,103 - $96,046 per annum + super

We’re on the lookout for a reliable, hands-on team member to join our Waste Disposal crew here at Council.
This role is about operating and maintaining Townsville City Council landfills and transfer stations to contribute to a site which operates in an efficient, safe and compliant manner.
Operating plant at the Waste Facility will be the primary task of the position however other day to day tasks are expected. In this role you will be completing tasks such as litter management, waste compaction and spreading, maintaining safe site signage and litter fencing, maintaining hazardous waste disposal bays, loading and transporting of resources to the active landfill, maintaining our recycling recovery areas and stockpile pads. Whilst completing tasks operators are expected to comply with the standard operating procedures for the facility.
You’ll help make sure waste coming into the site meets our acceptance criteria and keep the site safe for customers and staff. From time to time, you may also support the collection team during emergencies.
This role will work from the Stuart Landfill site and report directly to the Leading Hand.

Mandatory
Current \"HR\" class driver's licence Front End Loader Ticket (LL) Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD)
Highly Desirable
Compactor Ticket (LR) Excavator Ticket (LE) Dozer Ticket (LZ) Grader Ticket (LG)
Desirable
Demonstrated experience in the waste management/disposal industry A demonstrated ability to effectively operate machinery associated with waste Ability to use GPS based machinery guidance and topography mapping services for landfill
