About the opportunity Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, Queensland, you’ll play a key role in delivering communications that support the Queensland Division’s advocacy priorities and member activity.
You will:
write media releases, statements, briefing notes and talking points
develop advocacy alerts, member updates and stakeholder communications
create engaging digital content for social and LinkedIn
identify media opportunities and support proactive and reactive communications activity
help translate policy issues into accessible and persuasive messages
contribute to events content and member engagement before, during and after events
support issues management and reputational communications when needed
About you You’re a strong communications professional with excellent judgement, a sharp eye for detail and the ability to work confidently across multiple priorities.
You’ll bring
proven experience in media, communications, public affairs, policy or a related field
exceptional writing and editing skills across a range of channels
experience producing media releases, social content, member communications and advocacy material
the ability to distil complex information into clear, engaging messages
strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative working style
sound understanding of media, digital communications and storytelling
a proactive, adaptable approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
What you'll need
3+ years’ experience in media, communications, public affairs, policy or a similar role
a relevant degree in communications, journalism, public relations, public policy or similar
willingness to work outside standard business hours from time to time
ability to travel interstate occasionally
