Responsibilities
You'll be hands‐on across a diverse range of geotechnical and tunnelling projects, supporting delivery from early investigations through to construction. Your work will include:
* Planning and delivering geotechnical investigations, including site reconnaissance, fieldwork, sampling, logging and in-situ testing
* Interpreting geotechnical data and contributing to design recommendations and risk assessments
* Preparing technical reports and supporting design documentation for small to medium projects
* Working closely with senior engineers and project managers on investigation scoping, methodologies and project delivery
* Supporting proposals and tenders, including technical inputs and cost estimates
* Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and engaging directly with clients on technical queries and project updates
* Providing guidance to technicians and junior team members in both field and office environments
You'll balance time between site and office, gaining exposure to a broad range of ground conditions, project types and clients.
Qualifications
You're a motivated geotechnical engineer who enjoys solving real‐world problems and working as part of a collaborative team. You'll bring:
* A degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering (or equivalent)
* Around 2+ years' experience in geotechnical engineering or a related discipline
* Strong field experience, including soil logging, sampling and site investigations
* Exposure to investigation techniques such as CPTs, boreholes, test pits and in-situ testing
* Well‐developed analytical skills and the ability to interpret geotechnical data
* Clear written and verbal communication skills, with experience contributing to technical reports
* A current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
* Eligibility for (or progress toward) Engineers Australia membership
