The Condobolin Aboriginal Health Service are seeking a Domestic Family Sexual Violence Worker to join our team.

Reporting to the Health Care Manager, in this role funded by the Department of Communities and Justice, until 30 June 2026.

This is a 37.5 hour per week position (the role is being offered as a Full-time | Fixed-Term Contract until 30 June 2026, contingent on Government funding).

Salary is in accordance with the SCHADS Award. The specific level of remuneration will depend on the successful applicant's experience and is negotiable. Accommodation may be made available for an applicant from outside the area.

Additional salary packaging is available, up to $15,000 per annum.

About the role

In this role you will provide trauma informed and culturally appropriate services to individuals and families experiencing Domestic Family Sexual Violence.

You must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and have the ability to pass a Police Check and Working with Children Check.

As a Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting victims/survivors of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) to feel safe, informed and supported throughout their journey.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Client support and advocacy - Provide trauma informed, client centered support to women experiencing domestic and family violence (DFV). This includes conducting risk and threat assessments, developing and implementing safety plans, offering practical guidance to meet immediate needs, and connecting clients with appropriate services such as accommodation, financial support, counselling, and legal assistance. Actively advocate on behalf of clients with police, courts, and other service providers to ensure their safety and access to resources
* Referrals - Respond to DFV referrals received from the police, as well as other government and non-government agencies in a timely manner. Conduct threat assessments to determine clients' current risk levels and develop safety plans to address immediate safety needs
* Collaboration - work closely with NSW police, local courts, legal services, DCJ child protection and community organizations to achieve the best outcomes for clients

Selection Criteria

a) Hold Diploma of Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field. Training in domestic violence or trauma-informed care highly desirable

b) Demonstrated understanding of Domestic Family Sexual Violence including risk assessment, safety planning, crisis work, case management and advocacy

c) Demonstrated awareness of contributing issues that may affect a client's choices and decisions, including cultural issues, effects of trauma and financial concerns

d) Knowledge of the functions of government and non-government agencies that support victims of Domestic Family Sexual Violence and ability to engage with these agencies

e) Minimum 2 years of work experience in a community setting, clinical environment, or within an Aboriginal organisation

f) Excellent communication and negotiation skills

g) Ability to work independently and as part of the wider clinical team

h) Experienced in preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports

i) Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and professional integrity

j) Current NSW Drivers Licence

k) Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander

l) Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain before commencement)

m) Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain before commencement)
