The Merchant Hotel Brisbane is in the final stages of an exciting renovation, and we're looking for friendly, professional Casual Receptionists / Guest Service Agents to join our pre‐opening team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a hotel launch and play a key role in delivering exceptional first impressions and guest experiences.
About the Role
As the face of the hotel, you will be responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth and memorable stay from check‐in to check‐out. Your ability to provide warm, efficient service will be key to our success.
Key Responsibilities
* Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
* Manage check‐ins, check‐outs, and reservations
* Handle guest enquiries, requests, and complaints promptly
* Process payments and maintain accurate guest accounts
* Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure room readiness
* Maintain a clean and organised front desk area
* Assist with general administrative duties as required
About You
* Previous experience in a hotel reception or customer service role preferred
* Minimum 1‐2 years of customer service experience required
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* High level of organisation and attention to detail
* Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
* Flexible availability across a 7‐day roster, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
* Must be available to work mixed day and evening shifts
* Experience with hotel PMS systems (e.g. RMS, Opera, or similar) is advantageous
