Key Customer Relations Lead

Driving strategic customer engagement and service excellence at Logan Water through trusted relationships, innovation, and resilience.

We have an exciting opportunity for a
permanent full time Key Customer Relations Lead
to join the
Water Service Performance Branch
within the Council.

The role is focused on building and nurturing strategic relationships with Logan Water's critical and key commercial customers, elected representatives, and stakeholders. It leads important initiatives in demand and drought management, contributes to incident response, and represents Logan Water in regional forums. A central aspect of the role is designing and implementing a customer management model that supports commercial clients with essential service needs, ensuring they receive tailored and proactive support. The position also plays a key role in engaging elected officials through clear communication and coordinated briefings on strategic issues and projects. Additionally, it supports the negotiation and delivery of commercial products and services, helping drive value and resilience across Logan Water's customer base.

Position responsibilities include:

* This role ensures:
* Proactive communication during service disruptions and strategic updates.
* Strong stakeholder relationships through forums, briefings, and events.
* Digital tools and frameworks for managing customer interactions and data.
* Support for water resilience and sustainability, including trade waste practices.
* Leading stakeholder engagement and collaboration across teams
* Coordinating communications for outages and works planning.
* Applying quality systems to improve customer experience.
* Promoting empathetic, timely communication across all channels
* Supporting incident management and strategic engagement.
* Reporting on engagement outcomes to guide leadership decisions.

Key indicators for success:

* Degree qualifications in Business Communications or Business Administration, Public Relations or Stakeholder Engagement or a related discipline.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to consult, negotiate, and influence diverse stakeholders.
* Experience managing critical customer complaints and contributing to incident response.
* A solid understanding of local and state government functions, and the ability to provide expert advice to elected representatives and agencies.
* Proven ability to lead small projects, manage change, and mediate differing perspectives to achieve shared outcomes.
* Strong personal management skills, including prioritisation, time management, and multitasking.
* Commercial acumen in contract negotiation and financial management.
* Experience in developing business requirements for customer systems and presenting data for collaborative use.
* A mindset focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and the adoption of new technologies.
* Ability to pass all pre-employment and background checks as required.
