For this role, AMA is delivering a portfolio of CHPP plant upgrade and capital works projects at a coal mining operation near Blackwater, Queensland.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a portfolio of CHPP plant upgrade capital projects for a coal mining operation near Blackwater.
This is a hands‐on leadership role responsible for managing multiple sustaining capital and improvement projects across a working Coal Handling Preparation Plant. You will drive safe, efficient delivery from concept through to execution and handover, working closely with site operations, engineering teams, and contractors.
The focus is on delivering practical, fit‐for‐purpose upgrades that improve plant performance, reliability, and safety while minimising disruption to production.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the end‐to‐end delivery of multiple CHPP plant upgrade and capital projects
* Manage project scope, schedule, cost, risk, and change across a portfolio of works
* Oversee contractors, procurement activities, and site execution in a live operational environment
* Coordinate engineering, design, and technical reviews to ensure practical, buildable solutions
* Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to plan and execute works safely and efficiently
* Maintain project reporting, schedules, budgets, and governance requirements
* Ensure compliance with all site safety systems, procedures, and regulatory requirements
* Drive stakeholder engagement across site leadership, engineering, and delivery partners
* Identify and manage risks and opportunities to support successful project outcomes
* Promote a strong safety‐first culture across all project activities
About You
* Experience as a Project Manager in mining, resources, or heavy industry
* Strong background in fixed plant, or bulk materials handling projects
* Proven delivery of capital works in operational environments
* Strong contractor, stakeholder, and site coordination skills
* Solid understanding of project controls (cost, schedule, risk)
* Relevant engineering or project management qualification (preferred)
* Strong safety focus and practical, solutions-based approach
