Overview
We are seeking a Project Designer to join our Project Delivery team and help shape the future of the Cassowary Coast region.
Working collaboratively with Asset Engineering and Project Delivery, you will use contemporary civil design technologies and engineering principles to develop practical, fit-for-purpose infrastructure solutions that support and enhance service delivery to our community.
As a valued member of the team, you will prepare high-quality civil designs that are constructible, cost-effective and aligned with Council's operational and strategic objectives. Your expertise will contribute to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects that improve the liveability and sustainability of our region.

About the Role
* Produce efficient, fit-for-purpose designs using appropriate technology and established Council design and construction practices.
* Develop designs that prioritise constructability, minimise construction risks, and support long-term asset sustainability.
* Ensure all design work complies with relevant safety, quality, and engineering standards.
* Maintain proficiency in contemporary civil design software and industry best practices.
Skills & Experience
* Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or extensive demonstrated civil design experience.
* Experience preparing engineering designs using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, 12d Model, or similar civil design software.
* Ability to prepare quantity estimates, costings, and interpret design briefs and client requirements.
* Ability to read and interpret survey plans and field data.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
