Vasse Steel Solutions is a well‐established, locally owned fabrication business based in the Vasse Industrial Business Park, Busselton. We deliver a wide range of work — from small repair jobs and custom fabrication through to large structural steel projects for the building and construction industry. We also complete commercial stainless work for wineries and breweries, including tank, pipeline, and process‐related fabrication.
With a strong reputation for quality workmanship and a steady stream of diverse projects, we are now seeking an experienced metal fabricator to join our team.

About the role
Reporting to the Fabrication Project Manager, this role is suited to an experienced metal fabricator who takes pride in producing high‐quality work across a diverse range of projects. You'll be involved in everything from small repair jobs and custom fabrication through to large structural steel builds and commercial stainless work for wineries and breweries. The position is predominantly workshop‐based, with periodic on‐site installation work as required.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Perform high‐quality MIG and TIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and plate materials.
* Complete fabrication tasks such as cutting, drilling, grinding, fit‐up, and assembly.
* Fabricate components to the required standards, ensuring structural integrity and clean presentation.
* Interpret technical drawings, site measurements, and job specifications to complete tasks accurately and with minimal supervision.
* Work primarily in the workshop, with periodic on‐site installation duties.
* Assist with on‐site installation of fabricated components, including fitting, fixing, and final adjustments.
* Conduct self‐inspection of welds and fabricated components to ensure they meet specified tolerances.
* Operate workshop machinery safely, including press brake, guillotine, grinders, drills, saws, welders, and hand tools.
* Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient work environment in accordance with WHS requirements.
* Assist with general workshop duties and support team workflow as required.
Skills & Requirements
* Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/Welding) or equivalent trade qualification.
* 5+ years of workshop fabrication experience.
* Confidence working across stainless steel, aluminium, and structural steel.
* Strong ability to fabricate accurately from engineering drawings, with a solid understanding of tolerances, fit‐up, sequencing, and fabrication standards.
* Valid Australian C‐Class driver's licence.
* Current and unrestricted Australian working rights.
* Additional tickets and licences are highly regarded: Confined Space, EWP, Forklift HRWL (LF), White Card, Working at Heights.
* Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Reliable, punctual, and takes ownership of work quality and outcomes.
