Role
Community Hub Australia's Hub Leaders work in a connected way with Northern Bay College's leadership and teams to achieve improvements in family and community engagement, by strengthening family confidence and connectedness and by building school‑community capacity. This includes creating a welcoming and inclusive climate, developing, implementing and reviewing positive family engagement and inclusion initiatives focused on the Early Years, parent/caregiver education, transitions at entry and exit points. The shared objectives of the College and Community Hubs Australia are to improve outcomes for family engagement, student engagement, attendance, punctuality and learning outcomes. Through collaboration between College Leadership and the Hub Leader, the work will involve attracting resources and being collectively and individually accountable for the development, implementation, and review of practices and strategies that improve student and family engagement and wellbeing outcomes. The Community Hub will work directly with parents/caregivers and families, community agencies and allied health services for effective implementation of the goals set in the current Northern Bay College Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement an Annual Community Hub Plan, weekly timetable and evaluation documents, in line with the Community Hubs Australia guidelines and the Northern Bay College Annual Implementation Plan.
* Collaborate with staff at NBC Campuses, Early Childhood Centres and Community Hub Support Coordinator, and Community Partners to deliver co‑located and coordinated activities.
* Create opportunities to develop community programmes that build the capacity of parents and caregivers to participate in the development and life of the Community Hub and the wider community.
* Be proactive in sourcing, writing grant applications and evaluation reports to attract resources that align with the scope and focus of the school's family engagement agenda.
* Manage the NBC Community Hub annual expenditure budget.
* Develop relevant documentation for the Community Hub such as meeting agendas and minutes, maintain activity schedules, data collection, promotional brochures and publicity articles for media, newsletters, etc. in a timely and effective manner.
* Manage partnership agreements between NBC and local community services.
* Continue to pursue own professional growth and leadership development opportunities to ensure high quality service delivery, and support the growth of others through mentoring, teamwork, onsite training/modules, professional reading, PD programs and neighbourhood networking.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant Northern Bay College Teams, community members, services, funding agencies and local Early Years networks.
* Create a welcoming environment by working with staff and community members with a focus on CALD communities.
* Act as family liaison and first point of contact to assist families with enquiries and advocacy of family needs and issues to the school improvement team, neighbourhood hub coordinator and relevant local agencies.
* Support parents to participate in hub, school and community activities and provide positive advocacy for the school within the broader community.
* Link parents to information, programmes and services where applicable and assist with referrals as required.
* In liaison with College Leadership, organise parent engagement activities, programmes and events in response to AIP directions and family needs and interests.
* Work in collaboration with the Prep Transition Coordinator & Learning Community leader to promote and build capacity within the early years and community‑based activities.
* Attend and participate in Hub Leader networking and learning and development meetings.
* Collaborate with others to nurture a strong staff collective efficacy and climate of high expectations and maintain high team morale through strong interpersonal and communication skills and professional standards.
Additional Responsibilities
* Provide a twice‑termly report to College/Campus Leadership.
* Take on additional responsibilities as designated by the College Leadership.
Qualifications
* Qualifications in community services is desirable but not essential.

Location Profile
Northern Bay P‑12 College is a unique multi‑campus school located in the Northern Suburbs of Geelong made up of four Prep – Year 8 campuses and a fifth Year 9 – Year 12 campus. The college also boasts a Family and Early Learning Centre and the Geelong Industry Trade Training Centre (GITTC) on our Goldsworthy site. The college operates through a three sub‑school structure to enhance our 'One School – One Team' ethos which emphasises a rigorous focus on student learning underpinned by a proactive and supportive well‑being framework.
