This is a fixed term, full-time position commencing in January 2026 up until the end of June 2027.
The Teacher Registration Directorate is comprised of three branches, namely, Registration and Customer Services, Investigations and Compliance and Policy and Quality Assurance. The Directorate is responsible for providing secretariat services to the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia. The Directorate supports the Board's mission of serving the public interest by ensuring that teachers are registered and teacher education programs are accredited in accordance with relevant legislation and in the best interests of children.
The Role
The Senior Customer Service Officer provides high-quality administrative, reception, and clerical support in a busy call centre environment. Key responsibilities include managing incoming calls and emails, responding to customer enquiries, completing data entry tasks, preparing correspondence, and overseeing customer financial transactions such as invoicing, receipting, and payment processing. The role also manages key finance functions, including maintaining and balancing onsite cash holdings, reconciling incoming payments, and completing weekly banking processes.
Operating within a high-volume, service-oriented team, the Senior Customer Service Officer provides accurate regulatory and legislative guidance to applicants, colleagues, and stakeholders in accordance with the Teacher Registration Act 2012 and TRBWA policies and procedures.
The position involves handling a substantial number of telephone and written enquiries, requiring strong communication and organisational skills. Advanced IT proficiency is essential, particularly in assisting users to navigate the Teacher Registration website and troubleshooting access issues within the online registration portal.
The role also includes supporting the processing of criminal history checks, including conducting interviews with teachers to verify identity and completing related administrative tasks.
