Location: Canberra, ACT. Must be an Australian Citizen with AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver cloud development activities working with relevant stakeholders and technical resources.
* Interact with clients on site to meet more complex solution requirements.
* Escalate unresolved problems and issues to the Technical Lead and relevant third parties.
* Mentor and coach other engineers to foster knowledge sharing, skill development, and best practice adoption.
* Write reports and proposals and maintain project documentation.
* Participate in complex design work, providing input where expected.
* Take ownership of relevant technologies according to domain or specialization.
* Maintain and develop Infrastructure as Code for a range of systems.
* Support Java applications running in a Linux environment and perform performance tuning.
* Work in a diverse team across a wide range of technologies and systems.
* Automate processes and build self‐service capabilities.
* Deliver and build services and technologies including Microsoft Azure.
* Collaborate periodically to develop and implement operational improvements.
* Leverage experience with cloud‐native tools to review metrics and monitor the health and utilisation of agency cloud services.
* ITQSB certification highly desirable.
* Maintain skills and contemporary practice in the applicable technology stack.
Required Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated practical experience and understanding of cloud implementations, Microsoft Azure, and protected cloud environments.
* ElasticSearch experience.
* Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell.
* Troubleshooting Java applications in a Linux environment or Java development experience.
* Experience creating and maintaining automated deployments.
* Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (preferably Ansible and ARM).
* Availability to work full time from client premises in Canberra.
Academic Qualifications & Certifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) preferred.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience mentoring team members.
* Knowledge of the following technology stack: Azure Bicep, Terraform, HBase/HDFS (HDInsight), Neo4j, Kafka, NiFi, Kibana, Logstash, GraphQL, Redis, WSO2 Identity Server or similar, WSO2 API Manager or similar, PostgreSQL or similar, React or similar, Java Spring Boot.
* Azure big‐data services, Azure AD/ADFS, Azure API Manager, Azure Cosmos DB.
