**Position Summary**
- Contribute to the overall health care of Barwon Health clients
- Work in major regional acute care facility, and develop skilled skills & experience
- Temporary part time - 40 hours per fortnight (parental leave)
**About the facility**
Barwon Health’s McKellar Centre located only minutes from the centre of Geelong.
It is situated on a vibrant community asset with parkland surrounds.
The centre offers a range of rehabilitation services that enable people to make a dynamic recovery.
It is a 100 bed inpatient facility offering rehabilitation in palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, stroke, trauma, orthopaedic and amputee service.
We have state-of-the-art facilities concerning assistive technology and education facilities.
The Nutrition & Dietetics team provide clinical services to inpatients and outpatients across all clinical services at McKellar Centre.
Our services promote the concept of a cooperative teamwork model, where staff are expected to pursue clinical excellence, consumer-centre care and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Additionally the team provide clinical placements for Deakin dietetics students and have a strong relationship with Food Services via our Food Service Dietitian.
**About the role**
The Clinical Dietitian will act as a high-functioning member of the Nutrition & Dietetics Department at McKellar Centre, providing evidence-based Nutrition and Dietetics services to consumers and carers to achieve an optimal level of health via:
- Provision of comprehensive, co-ordinated and integrated multidisciplinary services.
- Provision of consumer-centred care.
- Contribution to the development and delivery of high quality, cost-effective dietetics services.
- Contribution to meeting relevant performance indicators (KPI’s).

Essential: Eligibility for full membership of Dietitians Australia
Essential: Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status
Essential: A current Victorian Driver’s License or equivalent
Desirable: Accredited Functional Independence Measure (FIM) clinician
Essential: Proven experience in one or more of the following: acute or subacute clinical nutrition and nutritional support
Essential: Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to a positive team environment
Essential: Ability to manage a demanding workload and prioritise accordingly
Desirable: 4 years of relevant clinical experience on rehabilitation
