About The Role
Band 5 - base salary starting from $145,000 per annum (plus super). The salary range will be determined by the candidate's experience and expertise and the final total package will be negotiated with the successful candidate accordingly. TasNetworks is seeking a highly capable Senior Finance Business Partner – Operations to provide strategic financial insight, leadership and support across our Operations portfolio. In this senior role you will lead a small team of Finance Business Partners and work closely with operational leaders to drive informed decision‐making, strengthen financial performance and ensure alignment with TasNetworks' strategic and financial objectives.
You will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and performance reporting, helping the Operations Executive understand trends, risks and opportunities. Your work will directly support improved commercial outcomes, uplift financial literacy across the portfolio and contribute to a high‐performing, collaborative finance culture. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys partnering with leaders, simplifying complexity and turning financial insights into meaningful business outcomes.
What You'll Do
* Lead a team of Finance Business Partners to deliver high‐quality financial support across the Operations portfolio.
* Drive budgeting and forecasting processes that align with corporate planning and strategic objectives.
* Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision‐making and improve financial performance.
* Prepare performance commentary and recommendations for the Operations Executive.
* Support financial literacy uplift through coaching, education and simplifying complex financial information.
* Influence and collaborate with stakeholders across Operations to drive commercial outcomes.
* Lead process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy and value.
* Contribute to a high-performance finance culture through collaboration with the Finance leadership team.
* Manage competing priorities while delivering accurate, timely and meaningful financial outputs.
About You
You're an experienced finance professional with strong business partnering capability and a passion for helping leaders make informed, strategic decisions. You bring a blend of technical expertise, commercial thinking and relationship‐building skills, and you're confident working in complex, fast‐paced environments. You enjoy leading teams or have leadership qualities, simplifying financial information and influencing stakeholders at all levels. You're proactive, analytical and comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands‐on delivery. You take pride in producing high‐quality insights that drive performance and support TasNetworks' operational and financial goals.
You Will Also Bring
* 4–7+ years' experience in finance business partnering or a similar role.
* CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent professional competence).
* Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial management skills.
* Excellent communication and influencing capability.
* Ability to work strategically and understand the broader business impacts of decisions.
* Experience leading small teams and fostering collaboration.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
