Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to lead our national tax function in Australia. This senior leadership role is responsible for tax strategy, compliance, governance, and integration across our expanding business.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and optimise the group's effective and cash tax rates and identify tax opportunities and risks.
* Provide tax structuring advice for acquisitions, integrations, and new ventures.
* Partner with finance and treasury teams to support tax‐efficient financing structures.
* Lead all aspects of Australian tax compliance, including income tax, GST, indirect taxes and state taxes.
* Manage ATO engagement, including audits, disputes, negotiations and technical queries.
* Implement strong tax governance, internal controls, and documentation; oversee the tax risk register.
* Monitor domestic and international tax regulatory changes and advise on business impacts.
* Drive continuous improvement across tax processes, reporting, and systems.
* Lead the tax workstream for LDC Australia's multi‐year transformation program and system integrations.
* Support ad‐hoc commercial, innovation and tax‐related projects with clear analysis and insights.
* Lead transfer pricing matters across the SSEA region for specific commodities traded out of Australia.
Essential Skills & Experience
* 15+ years in a Big 4 firm and/or senior in‐house tax leadership role within a multinational corporation.
* Strong technical tax knowledge with experience in cross‐border transactions, M&A, tax treaties and transfer pricing.
* Excellent business acumen, analytical capability, and ability to influence at senior levels.
* High attention to detail, adaptability, and strong project management skills.
* Proven stakeholder management capability across diverse business functions.
* Experience in commodity trading or digital transformation is advantageous.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with AI tools and SAP is a plus.
Education & Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, tax, commerce or related discipline.
* Tax institute (Australia) membership preferred.
* Fluent in English.
