Senior Mechanical Engineer – FLSmidth
Overview
In this role, you will lead the detailed design and finite element analysis (FEA) of rotating and vibrating equipment, support new product design projects, and direct engineering activities for major projects.
Responsibilities
* Interpret, organize, and coordinate design engineering assignments involving unique and complex problems ensuring compliance with local legislation and regional industry standards.
* Contribute to the development of design standards, guide specifications, and design control procedures in line with applicable legislation.
* Plan, organize, and supervise engineering activities for major projects.
* Represent product lines/projects at meetings and conferences.
* Prepare patents and technical papers for conferences or technical publications.
* Participate in the development of project design concepts and criteria.
* Analyze complex design problems requiring new or improved techniques or procedures.
* Review and approve design drawings and customer specifications.
* Participate actively in team environment and contribute to successful completion of team goals.
* Accept accountability for individual and team performance.
* Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
* Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety.
* Perform any other duties reasonably directed by your supervisor.
Qualifications
* Mechanical Engineering qualification with 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
* Ability to analyze and solve complex engineering problems through advanced knowledge.
* Experience in vibration analysis of equipment using first principles and FEA methods.
* Experience in the development of project design concepts and criteria.
* Proficiency in ANSYS and SolidWorks preferred.
