Role Summary
Join a supportive and high‐performing surgical team at Launceston General Hospital, gaining broad, hands‐on experience across all aspects of general surgery while developing leadership and career progression opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Provide approved general surgical outpatient and inpatient services.
* Participate in after‐hours Registrar/Consultant on‐call rosters.
* Lead and mentor surgical registrars and resident medical officers in training.
* Assist with quality improvement, audit and service improvement initiatives within the Department of Surgery.
* Manage day‐to‐day care of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the LGH.
* Provide after‐hours emergency cover as determined by the work unit.
Qualifications
* General, provisional or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Current Working with Children Registration, where applicable.

* Full allowance and benefits per the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025, including salary packaging, leave entitlements, professional development allowance and travel/relocation assistance.
