About the Role
Take on the role of Assistant Store Manager at Petstock and support the Store Manager in leading a passionate team to deliver world‑class customer service, playing a key role in the success of the Petstock Group.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead by example, mentoring and inspiring the team daily.
* Support the Store Manager in coaching the team to achieve and develop their knowledge and skills.
* Lead from the front by consistently providing an exceptional customer experience.
* Create a strong safety mindset, committed to fostering a culture of safety within the team.
* Assist in managing stock effectively, ensuring accuracy and that the team follows stock integrity processes.
* Assist in managing visual merchandising (VM) of stock displays, ensuring VM standards are consistently maintained.
* Demonstrate initiative by actively keeping knowledge up to date on pet care, products, and services.
* Recruit, onboard, and induct high‑calibre new team members.
* Create a fun, supportive in‑store culture where the team loves coming to work every day.
* Proactively support local marketing opportunities and sponsorships.
Key Qualifications
* Experience in a similar store leadership role or ready to take the next step up in a retail management career.
* Demonstrated drive to achieve and exceed sales targets.
* Solid leadership ability to motivate and build a high‑performing team whilst fostering a positive culture.
* Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting priorities, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
* Ability to drive safe Work, Health & Safety practices.
* Established business acumen.
* Adaptability and flexibility to changing work environment.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and rapport with customers and the wider team.
