WHSE Business Partner

**About the role**:
Reporting to the WHSE Manager NSW / ACT, this role will be responsible for supporting the WHSE function across multiple sites for the M&I business within NSW/ ACT.
You will play a significant part & have a strong appetite in coaching & mentoring and driving a high-performance culture that optimises operational efficiency and sustainability. This hands-on role will provide practical WHSE advice and support to our people whilst continually driving WHSE in a positive direction through the implementation of Risk Reduction Plans.
You will have a real knack for building relationships as you develop a healthy and respectful partnership between yourself and your key stakeholders, allowing for you to effectively challenge and drive WHSE requirements
You will integrate into various teams that foster teamwork and collaboration whilst working for a leader that values growth, development, and balance. You must thrive on multitasking and 'to do lists' as well as enjoy having boots on the ground in manufacturing, quarrying & warehousing environments.
On site visibility and availability to the operation is critical in this role to allow you to support your stakeholders as required. This role will include regular travel to various sites across greater Sydney as well as regional NSW & ACT from time to time.

This role has the flexibility to work remotely for part of the week where required, allowing work life balance with a mature approach to role clarity & expectations for success. The option to work a non-standard week will also be considered for the right applicant

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Coach and Mentor Operational line leaders in WHSE.
- Facilitate activities which drive or embed WHSE initiatives.
- Support site management teams to implement CSR key risk programs, system standards and hazard standards
- Implement agreed CSR initiatives e.g., Never Walk Past, Guarding Improvement, Chain of Responsibility & risk reduction plans
- Assist sites in the implementation of efficient processes and systems
- Ensuring compliance in accordance with WHSE standards and responsibilities
- Partner with site management teams to investigate incidents and identify root cause and drive prompt close out of agreed actions

**About You**:
You will have experience with, or the capability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders and strive to advance the WHSE strategy through enabling a unified culture, including:

- Excellent Communicator at all levels.
- Multiple sites experience or the ability to demonstrate how you manage competing priorities from equally important sources.
- Positive thinker who wants to be part of working together for solutions rather than focusing on the problem.
- Demonstrated background in the achievement of Health Safety and Environment objectives, ideally within a similar environment (Manufacturing, Construction or Heavy Industries with a higher safety risk background)
- Able to engage and work with multiple stakeholders.
- Able to interpret standards and help others by meeting them where they are at and building from there.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver systems and work to standards.
- Lead Incident Investigations (hold ICAM or similar) - not essential
- Relevant tertiary qualifications - Cert IV in Workplace Health & Safety or higher
- Certificate in Return-to-work coordinator - Preferred but not essential
- Experience with environmental management systems &/or with sites who hold a Environmental Protection Licence (EPL) will be highly regarded.
- Experience with unionised site activity will be highly regarded.
