The Role
You will bring your fantastic customer-facing skills and passion to deliver an exceptional service, while working together to ensure Australia's supply of blood products.
This role involves:
* Greeting and interviewing potential donors
* Providing clinical oversight and guiding other team members in the blood collection process
* Completing routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
* Setting up machines and collections equipment
* Inserting and removing needles safely to collect whole blood & plasma
* Managing adverse donor reactions
* Monitoring donors post-donation and assisting them to rebook for their next donation
Responsibilities
* Greet and interview potential donors to assess their eligibility and suitability to donate
* Provide clinical oversight and guide other team members in the blood collection process
* Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
* Set up machines and collections equipment
* Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood & plasma
* Manage adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance
* Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation
Requirements
* Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
* Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
* Utilise your expertise having completed a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and hold a current AHPRA registration
* Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Tuesday - Friday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
* Have your own vehicle and driver's licence
