About the role
As a Mental Health Clinician within the Acute Care Service (ACS), you will provide high quality clinical care to consumers experiencing acute mental health and/or alcohol and other drug concerns. Working within an integrated multidisciplinary Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (MHAOD) team, you will support assessment, crisis intervention, short term treatment and recovery focused care pathways across the region. You will play a key role in delivering evidence-based, culturally responsive services while collaborating with internal teams, community providers and external stakeholders to improve access, continuity of care and recovery outcomes.
* Provide culturally safe and responsive care to First Nations peoples and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
* Contribute to continuous improvement, clinical governance, patient safety and quality service delivery initiatives.
Working with us
* Eligible health practitioners entitled to accrue an additional three days professional development leave per annum, resulting in a total of six days professional development leave per annum.
* Eligible health practitioners working in designated remote areas will be entitled to a professional development allowance of $3,512.00 per annum.
* Rural and Remote incentive: Category D allowance of $431.22 per fortnight.
* Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.
* Transfer and appointment expenses may be negotiated.

Requirements
* Mandatory: relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
* Psychologist: Mandatory possession of a tertiary degree in Psychology and eligible for current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Psychology Board.
* Occupational Therapists: Mandatory possession of a degree in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for current registration (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapist Board.
* Social Workers: Mandatory possession of a tertiary degree in Social Work providing eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers.
* Social Workers: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a 'working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
* C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
* Pre‐employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
* This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
* A period of probation may apply.
