Are you looking for a sea change in the South West of WA?

WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking experienced Consultant Physician Geriatrics to join the team in the South West Region.

This is a recruitment pool to fill permanent (full‐time, part‐time or sessional) and/or fixed‐term (full‐time and fixed‐term part‐time) appointments for five years, with the possibility of extension. Closing Monday 29 June 2026.

MP Year 1‐9: $412,161 - $523,436 p.a.* Full time (80 hours per fortnight).

Inclusive of base salary, 12% superannuation and a professional development allowance as per the WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2024.

Please note: If successful, classification and level will be determined based on your qualifications, certifications, experience outlined in your CV, and, if applicable, assessment outcomes by specialist college and AHPRA registration status.

About The Role

As a Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine, you will deliver specialist geriatric services across the South West Region of Western Australia. You will play a key leadership role in developing and delivering:

* Day Therapy services
* Rehabilitation in the home
* A Rehabilitation/Restorative Care Unit at Bunbury Hospital
You Will Also Contribute To
* Ortho‐geriatric services
* Rehabilitation services at Busselton Hospital

The service spans both inpatient and community settings and works closely with the South West Regional Aged Care Team, including the Aged Care Assessment Team.

About The Region

Bunbury Hospital is a 171‐bed public facility, co‐located with St. John of God Bunbury Hospital, forming part of the South West Health Campus. It receives over 45,000 presentations per year, with approximately 40% requiring admission. The patient mix includes many younger patients, with 25% being children.

The hospital provides care to over 80,000 residents and visitors and is undergoing a $471.5 million redevelopment, including a state‐of‐the‐art Emergency Department, a dedicated clinical tower, expanded operating theatres, and enhanced maternity, birthing and neonatal services.
