The Data Quality Analyst is responsible for understanding data quality, as well as supporting the Data Management Tools that manage our metadata management, data lineage and data quality monitoring.
As a valued member of the Data Management team you will be part of the transformation of the data quality management capabilities.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Manage data quality issues and keep the master reference data current where necessary to ensure that data is valid, accurate, complete, consistent, timely and suitable for the various needs of the organization.
- Support projects with the required data quality-related functions, such as but not limited to identification of data sources, extraction and transformation of data, data mapping, data reconciliation, data cleansing, data aggregation, data deduplication, data quality assessment, and root cause analysis of data quality issues.
- Establish and maintain good collaborative working relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Help with the continuous improvement of existing data quality management processes and systems, and where necessary, establish effective new ones, leveraging on the analytics industry best practices, tools, and techniques.
- Prepare correspondence, briefing documents, and reports for, or present analysis, findings, and summaries to, senior management on data quality-related issues.
- Perform such other data analytics-related functions that the Manager, Data Management, may assign from time-to-time or as the exigency of business requires.
**EXPERIENCE**
- Hands on experience in Data Mining, built or defined Data Quality rules in a line of business either writing SQL Scripts or using tools such as Informatica Data Quality; or
- Experience working on and sound understanding of data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts; or
- Experience in the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries, management of metadata, and/or maintenance of master and reference data; and
- Experience as a workshops contributor with demonstrable experience building strong relationships with peers, stakeholders, and working with them to deliver relevant data analysis and/or actionable business insights and solutions that create value.
**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS**
- Tertiary qualification plus at least 4 years' experience in a data role.
- Sound knowledge of data analysis, knowing SQL is an advantage, advanced Excel, to cleanse and manipulate data, and/or build reports
