Exciting Opportunity for the AI Engineer/Architect to join our client based in Melbourne.
6 months extendable contract

Education /Commercial Experience
Key responsibilities and Technical Skills
• Choose models, design RAG strategy, make cost/performance trade-offs
• Build data pipelines: ingestion, chunking, embeddings, retrieval, generation
• Design multi-step agentic workflows with tool integration (MCP-compatible)
• Implement automated and manual evaluation frameworks
• Configure guardrails, PII filters, and security controls
• Deploy containerised solutions with monitoring
• Document systems for handover
• One or more shipped production LLM systems preferred
• Python, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, Serverless Architecture such as ECS and Lambda
• LLM orchestration (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar)
• RAG implementation with vector databases (for example, pgvector, OpenSearch, Pinecone or FAISS)
• AI from AWS (Bedrock, SageMaker) and/or Azure (OpenAI, Azure ML)
• Evaluation frameworks (Promptfoo, Ragas, or custom)
• Security: KMS, VPC, private endpoints, OIDC
• Fine-tuning (LoRA/PEFT)
• Retrieval re-ranking (BM25 + dense hybrids)
• Databricks, MLOps tooling
• Enterprise compliance experience
Experience on years ML/AI engineering with production LLM systems
