Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Power Plant Resource Engineer to lead the daily operations and future upgrades of our diesel plant and electrical distribution network.
This is a key role that requires technical leadership, problem-solving skills, and strong communication abilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining diesel power generation and electrical distribution systems, leading maintenance schedules, high-voltage switching, and system optimisation.
In addition, they will manage infrastructure projects, provide technical guidance, and support operational planning to ensure power resilience during peak periods.
Key Responsibilities:
* Diesel Generation and Electrical Distribution: Operate and maintain diesel power generation and electrical distribution systems to ensure safe and reliable power supply.
* Maintenance Scheduling: Lead maintenance schedules, high-voltage switching, and system optimisation to prevent equipment failures and minimise downtime.
* Project Management: Manage infrastructure projects, including budgeting, contractor management, and stakeholder engagement.
* Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to team members on diesel generation, electrical distribution, and other related systems.
* Operational Planning: Support operational planning to ensure power resilience during peak periods, including wet season and tourism demand.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Electrical or Power Engineering Degree: Hold an electrical or power engineering degree (or equivalent trade with advanced technical experience).
* Experience in Diesel Generation Systems: Proven experience managing diesel generation systems and electrical distribution networks.
* HV Switching and Operations Competency: Possess HV switching and operations competency (UEPOPS 022/036/116/124 or equivalent).
* Budget and Project Management Experience: Have experience in budget and project management for capital works.
* Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: Demonstrate a proactive, problem-solving mindset and strong communication skills.
