Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-level direction and oversight of all governance and management activities, ensuring accountability and transparency in operations;
* Develop and implement comprehensive strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance program effectiveness across logistics planning, procurement, and operational support;
* Lead the program team, providing direction and clarity, whilst fostering an inclusive and psychologically safe environment that encourages learning, innovation, and collaboration within the team;
* Engage strategically with stakeholders to ensure alignment with Australia's Humanitarian Strategy, advocating for the needs of affected populations;
* Represent the program at high-level meetings and forums, articulating the vision, achievements, and challenges to diverse audiences;
* Monitor and evaluate program performance, utilizing data-driven insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement;
* Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations, to enhance coordination and collaboration in humanitarian efforts;

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Humanitarian Logistics Capability (HLC) facilitates the timely, effective, and flexible delivery of the Australian Government's humanitarian assistance and emergency relief program around the world. The goal of HLC is to facilitate humanitarian action that saves lives, alleviates suffering, and enhances human dignity during and in the aftermath of conflict, disasters, and other humanitarian crises. The HLC warehouse in Brisbane maintains the largest stockpile of prepositioned humanitarian emergency relief supplies within the Southern Hemisphere, with the capacity to respond to three simultaneous crises and can support at least 11,000 families – or 50,000 people.
