Parliamentary Security Operations Room (PSOR) Operator – Level 3
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 3 PSOR Operator within Security Operations, reporting to the PSOR Manager. The operator is responsible for access control, operating security and emergency management systems, responding to potential incidents, and coordinating resources to maintain a safe and secure environment at the Australian Parliament House (APH).
Security Division responsibilities include daily operational security, policy management, building security, parking services, visitor access, security risk management, resilience planning, and emergency management in partnership with the Australian Federal Police (AFP).
Key Responsibilities
* Access control and monitoring of security systems (CCTV, electronic access).
* Operate security and emergency management systems.
* Respond to potential incidents and coordinate resources.
* Assist in maintaining a secure physical environment at APH.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Previous experience in a control room environment, monitoring CCTV and managing electronic access control.
* Ability to work a 12‑hour rotating shift schedule.
* Must obtain and maintain Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.
* Strong judgement and environmental awareness.
Required Training
* Complete an intensive operational safety training program to a satisfactory standard.
* Obtain and maintain a First Aid Certificate.
* Complete annual refresher training on operational safety and first‑response emergency procedures.
Fitness Test (if applicable)
* Carry out a cardiovascular test.
* Perform 10 push‑ups.
* Perform 10 sit‑ups.
* Drag a 50kg dummy for 20m.
* Complete a hand‑grip test.
Selection involves an Assessment Centre and may include a fitness test at Parliament House.
