Bathurst R S L Club Ltd (Bathurst RSL) is looking for a full‑time Chef or Cook for both its main club and the smaller Portland RSL Club (Portland RSL Sport, Recreation Club Limited) that has recently been amalgamated with the group.

Job Description
FULL TIME – 38 HOURS PER WEEK. MINIMUM 4 WEEKS ANNUAL LEAVE. SALARY $75,000 – $85,000 PA + SUPER.
To be considered for the role you need to have a relevant industry qualification or at least 1‑2 years’ experience in a similar position.
Responsibilities
- Work with the management team on food preparation and seasonal menu planning.
- Stock ordering and labour cost control, assisting the owners with rostering.
- Training junior team members on cooking techniques and procedures.
- Assist with staff hiring and training.
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
Skills & Experience
- Must display excellent prep, cooking and plating skills.
- Strong emphasis on quality and consistency of dishes.
- Demonstrate a keen interest in growing food trends and techniques.
- Ability to contribute to menu planning, food cost estimation and food cost control.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and WHS and able to explain and enforce.
- Immaculate presentation and grooming.
- Ability to handle large service numbers.
- Above‑average customer care and service skills.
- Training of junior team members on cooking techniques and procedures.
- Assist with staff hiring and training.
- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies.
- Discuss customer requirements and requests with the floor team.
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
