Due to internal growth, we currently have a full‐time opportunity in our Maintenance team for a Fitter on day shift. This role is a permanent full‐time opportunity on an 8:6 roster.
You will be a high performing individual, with the knowledge and skills to maintain and facilitate maintenance on Heavy Rigid trucks and Mobile Plant equipment. To be successful for the role, you will have to be Qualified / Experienced Fitter to maintain a fleet of Volvo, UD, light Vehicles and forklifts.
CoreAccountabilities
* Evaluate and diagnose mechanical problems with the equipment throughout the surface and underground operations.
* Travel to various remote sites to accomplish field repairs and routine services on the equipment.
* Document various steps taken throughout the repair process to ensure consistency in future repairs and in reporting on resources and supplies used.
* Provide routine preventative maintenance on vehicles and other pieces of mobile equipment to avert the need for repairs.
* Track the maintenance rotation and ensure no pieces of equipment are missed during each maintenance cycle.
* To follow all company policies, procedures, and processes.
* To report nonconformances and opportunities for improvements, and participate in corrective actions.
* Carry out Prestart/Weekly & Monthly Maintenance Inspections on all equipment and maintain records of the checks conducted.
* Maintenance tasks to be always conducted in line with the Company Maintenance Program with 100% compliance required.
* Using the company investigation process conduct and provide the Management team with a complete investigation of all major mechanical failures.
* Demonstrate fault‐finding and diagnostic experience on MPUs, LV, mobile equipment and pumps.
* Ability to establish and maintain beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Time management skills.
* Flexibility and ability to prioritise schedules and duties.
* Knowledge and understanding of safety systems and processes.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and Australian Standards.
* Mechanical aptitude.
* High attention to detail.
