What You Will Do
Contribute to a technical role focused on engineering geology for mining projects, aligned with your academic background and early professional experience.
Typical Responsibilities
* Assist with conceptual and detailed investigations for foundations conditions, in situ material properties, construction materials and construction monitoring of mine waste tailings and waste rock storage facilities.
* Support investigations for civil mining infrastructure – water/sediment dams, roads, and plant site earthworks and foundations.
* Undertake desktop assessments, primarily geological / geotechnical data collection, manipulation, interpretation, management and reporting.
* Contribute to the preparation of engineering reports, drawings, specifications, bill of quantities and cost estimates.
* Provide support to other projects and teams as required, particularly during periods of when engineering‐specific project workloads are light.
* Work in accordance with KCB's Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System, actively participating in a safe and responsible work culture.
What You Bring
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, or Geoscience (Master's degree in Engineering Geology preferred).
* 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in engineering geology.
* Practical fieldwork experience, including geological mapping, borehole logging, drilling supervision, and geotechnical sampling.
* Experience supervising drilling operations and supporting in‐situ testing programs.
* Willingness to undertake regular fieldwork and travel.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.
* Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Current unrestricted Driver's Licence.
