West Coast Engineering & Welding (WCEW) is a proudly Western Australian–owned engineering and welding services provider, delivering high-quality structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) solutions across a range of industrial sectors throughout Western Australia. * Structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) works
* Piping fabrication, installation and commissioning
* Advanced welding services, including GTAW and MMAW
* On‐site installation and shutdown support
* Remote and access‐constrained site operations

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team and support the successful delivery of tenders and project opportunities across our operations.

This role is responsible for the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates across structural, mechanical and piping scopes. You will work closely with operations, procurement and project teams to ensure tenders are commercially sound and aligned with project requirements.

You'll play a key role in supporting business growth by identifying risks, pricing work effectively and contributing to successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare detailed cost estimates for SMP projects and tenders
* Interpret drawings, specifications and scope documentation
* Conduct quantity take-offs and develop pricing breakdowns
* Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing
* Identify project risks, opportunities and cost drivers
* Work collaboratively with internal teams to support tender submissions
* Maintain estimating records, cost data and benchmarking tools

What We're Looking For

* Previous experience in an SMP Estimator role within mining, construction or industrial environments
* Strong understanding of structural, mechanical and piping scopes
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
* Proficiency in Excel and estimating systems
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
