Electronics Engineering Role
The electronics team in product development is responsible for designing and developing all electronic parts within devices. This work includes elements of component selection, supplier management, calculation, simulation, design, verification including compliance testing, and troubleshooting prototype issues.
The team collaborates closely with project management, and other key engineering disciplines of systems, mechanical, and software. The team also works cross-functionally and liaises regularly with other departments such as product management, global supplier alliance, quality, regulatory, medical affairs and manufacturing.
As a portfolio of devices evolve and expand globally, the power team plays a critical role in enabling innovation, ensuring compliance with demanding regulatory standards, and ultimately delivering dependable therapy to millions of patients worldwide.
Responsibilities:
* Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership of electronics designs in accordance with business priorities, including specification and development of new products that potentially deliver revenue of hundreds of millions of dollars.
* Optimisation: Optimise analysis, review, testing, certification and documentation of new electronic designs.
* Transition Management: Ensure new electronic designs are successfully transitioned to prototype and volume production at electronics contract manufacturers in accordance with project needs.
* Problem Solving: Coordinate technical problem-solving activities, including root cause analysis, solution design and validation.
* Challenge Anticipation: Anticipate challenges faced by the team and proactively implement measures to address project risks.
* Team Engagement: Engage team members across the organisation to ensure working methods/processes are robust and optimised.
* Mentorship: Coach and mentor engineers within the group as a subject matter expert.
* Skills Development: Identify opportunities for improvement of skills and knowledge across the team and support others to achieve organisational goals.
* Outsourced Product Development: May include liaison and management of outsourced product development.
