Recognised as one of Melbourne’s leading auto electrical, mechanical, and tyre service providers, we are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Automotive Electrician to join our professional team.
Key Responsibilities
·Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic faults in vehicles, including systems such as electronic fuel injection, ignition, ABS, cruise control, airbags, and automatic transmissions.
·Install, test, and maintain electrical components and wiring assemblies, including gauges, lighting, alternators, starter motors, and voltage regulators, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.
·Fit, connect, and repair power-operated and electronic accessories, including radios, demisters, air conditioning units, driving lamps, and vehicle security systems.
·Read, interpret, and apply wiring diagrams and circuit schematics to accurately locate and resolve electrical faults using specialised diagnostic tools and test equipment.
·Calibrate and adjust engine management and electronic control systems to optimise vehicle performance, efficiency, and safety.
·Recondition or replace defective electrical components such as alternators, generators, starter motors, and batteries, ensuring proper operation according to technical standards.
·Repair or replace faulty wiring, ignition systems, fuses, lamps, switches, and connectors to restore vehicle functionality and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
·Operate hand tools and specialised electrical instruments safely and efficiently to perform diagnostics, repairs, and component installations.
·Install, service, and maintain vehicle air conditioning and climate control systems, ensuring correct operation and environmentally compliant refrigerant handling.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate robust technical ability, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship. You will also need to show strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop environment.
Essential Requirements:
1. Trade qualification as a Vehicle Automotive Electrician.
2. Minimum 1 year of post-apprenticeship experience in a similar role.
3. Strong attention to detail and diagnostic ability.
4. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and customer-service focus.
