Overview
We are seeking a Regional Director (Child and Family) to lead and manage the Sunshine Coast and Central Queensland Region and deliver government priorities for culturally responsive and needs-based child and family service delivery.
Responsibilities
The Regional Director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of child protection and placement services across the Sunshine Coast district, driving contemporary service models and providing outstanding stewardship and strategic leadership to achieve the region's vision, priorities and responsibilities. The role involves partnering with senior executives, collaborating internally and across the Queensland public service and interjurisdictionally to provide solutions that drive better outcomes for Queenslanders. The director will manage the district/region to deliver government priorities, lead proactive collaboration with stakeholders, and manage inter‐governmental and sector relations.
Qualifications
Experience working in a complex and high-demand child protection environment and a relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable. The candidate should have a record of success as a leader in a large, dynamic and complex organisation with outstanding leadership ability, extensive experience in strategy and policy implementation, governance, service delivery and client service, and a proven track record of delivering change in challenging environments.

As a senior executive, the Regional Director should exhibit outstanding judgment, high-level integrity and resilience, strong agility to adapt to a constantly changing environment, a strong achievement orientation and excellent communication and negotiation skills. The director must display the core public sector values of: customers first; ideas into action; unleash potential; be courageous; and empower people. A culturally strong and focused leader with a deep understanding of the issues that impact the over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people in the child protection system is required.
