Reporting to the Supervisor Environment - Mine, you will be responsible for ensuring that all environmental requirements relating to the operations are achieved in line with the Environmental Management System and legal obligations.
This includes environment management and compliance, regulatory reporting, monitoring and data analysis, inspections and communication and stakeholder engagement.
With a strong focus on safety, adherence to company policies, and values-driven behaviour, you will help deliver sustainable operations and create value for our stakeholders.

Duties Ensure all environmental legal obligations, commitments, and regulatory reporting requirements are met across the sites.
Promote environmental awareness and best practice across the business, fostering a culture of compliance, sustainability, and continuous improvement Manage day-to-day implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) Conduct environmental inspections and auditing activities Conduct environmental monitoring activities and associated data management and interpretation Environmental incident response, review, and support Coordinate environmental surveys, programs of work, and training initiatives to support operational and regulatory requirements Draft statutory compliance reports Collaborate across teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective environmental outcomes that protect HIO's licence to operate Skills and experience Tertiary qualification in Environmental science or equivalent Lead Auditor qualifications will be well regarded Experience in environmental compliance within the mining or resources sector Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks in Western Australia Proven experience with ISO***** environmental management systems, monitoring, inspections, and auditing Demonstrated ability to work on mine sites and in remote areas, coordinating contractors and environmental surveys Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), with GIS and database application skills desirable Strong ability to form positive work relationships with internal and external stakeholders Current Australian C Class Manual Driver's Licence, 4WD certification, and First Aid qualification Mine Facilities Modern, comfortable camp accommodation High quality gourmet food options (vegan, gluten free and healthy options) Large fully equipped gym facility, as well as a gym specifically for females Heated outdoor swimming pool Beach Volleyball court and Golf simulators Village shop and extensive supporting amenities SWIFT in-room entertainment with comprehensive content and own-device casting capability Active social club with community events and activities for employees Lifestyle, Learning and Recreation initiative which provide events for your family About Hancock Iron Ore The world of iron ore is evolving, and so are we.
