An exceptional leadership opportunity exists for an experienced Radiologist to join Mackay Base Hospital as Clinical Director – Medical Imaging on a permanent full-time basis.

As Clinical Director, you will play a key role in shaping imaging services across the Mackay Hospital and Health Service region while leading a collaborative and multidisciplinary department committed to innovation, education, and high‐quality patient care.
The Opportunity: You will provide clinical and operational leadership across Medical Imaging services while continuing to deliver high‐quality diagnostic and interventional radiology services.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading safe, high‐quality radiology services across the health service
* Supporting clinical governance, patient safety, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
* Contributing to strategic planning and service development
* Supervising and mentoring consultants, registrars, and junior medical staff
* Supporting education for medical students, allied health professionals, nursing staff, and community stakeholders
* Working collaboratively within the Medical Imaging Leadership Team
The Department
The Medical Imaging Department delivers a comprehensive range of services including:
* General Radiography
* Computed Tomography (CT)
* Ultrasound
* Interventional Radiology
* Fluoroscopy
* Cardiac Catheter Laboratory
* Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
* Theatre Imaging Services
The service also provides remote rural reporting across Mackay HHS sites including:
* Proserpine
* Bowen
* Moranbah
Staff Profile

* Radiologists

* Sonographers
* Nursing staff
