This is a standout opportunity to join a high-performing and collaborative People & Culture function as an Employee Relations Manager/Specialist.
In this role, you’ll provide strategic and hands-on support in managing complex employee matters, shaping industrial relations outcomes, and ensuring positive engagement across the business.
This role is with a repeat client of ours. We successfully placed a Legal Counsel into their legal team a few months ago. That individual has consistently spoken highly of the supportive and inclusive workplace culture, strong leadership, and the real investment the business makes in people and development.
You’ll influence how the business approaches key ER/IR initiatives and be seen as a trusted advisor to leaders, HRBPs, and key stakeholders.

How will this role develop your career?
You’ll work closely with a Head of ER/IR who is known for mentorship and for developing the careers of employment law and ER professionals.
This role is ideal for a practitioner looking to broaden their ER/IR leadership capability and gain exposure to policy development, enterprise bargaining, wellbeing, investigations, and regulatory risk.
The business operates across a complex national landscape, meaning you’ll gain highly transferable experience working across enterprise agreements, awards, and policy frameworks.
You’ll also present reporting insights to executive and board-level stakeholders.
Progression to Senior ER/IR roles is available in line with performance and career goals, supported by structured development plans and project ownership.

What work will you do?
In addition to the above, you’ll:
* Manage and coach on complex ER casework and conduct investigations.
* Deliver training on workplace behaviour and sexual harassment policies.
* Advise on flexible work, award/EBA compliance and emerging IR issues.
* Represent the business in mediations, conciliations, and hearings.
* Contribute to the negotiation and implementation of EBAs.
* Build capability of HRBPs and people leaders through tools, coaching and frameworks.
* Deliver ER/IR actions in line with the People Strategy and Annual Plan.
* Lead compliance initiatives and maintain ER/IR reporting for executive and board audiences.
What type of person will be successful?
* Admitted legal practitioner or tertiary qualified in Employment Law.
* 3+ years of experience in employment law or employee relations in a national/Federal IR framework.
* Strong case management and investigation experience.
* Confident delivering training and advising senior leaders.
* Skilled in policy development and EBA interpretation.
* Excellent verbal and written communication.
* Able to manage multiple ER projects and compliance obligations.
* Experience in a unionised or multi-site, matrix environment is highly desirable.
