At RPS, we deliver expert commercial and strategic advice to governments and private sector clients on infrastructure projects in the Asia-Pacific region. The Director - Transactions will shape the delivery of major projects across Water, Transport (Road/Rail), Energy and Major Events infrastructure.
The Role
We're looking for an infrastructure advisory professional with a deep understanding of commercial structuring, procurement strategy, and transaction management across the full project lifecycle. The role focuses on winning and delivering high-value, public sector infrastructure deals with a Queensland focus and leading multi-disciplinary teams. You will also lead an internal team of RPS transaction professionals based in Queensland, providing leadership, line management, mentoring and building team culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead team and clients in strategy, development and execution of major infrastructure transactions.
* Manage project teams to deliver against budget performance.
* Lead strategic business development, with a focus on major infrastructure transactions and cross-selling of other services and divisions.
* Lead Queensland transaction team in work winning of major transaction contracts, including leveraging networks and setting annual revenue targets.
* Provide advanced level advice and guidance to project teams and clients and undertake peer reviews.
* Coordinate transaction programs and the use of project resources.
* Engage in thought leadership and market-facing activities to position RPS as a leading consultant and translate that positioning into work for the business.
* Engage with decision-makers and industry leaders to spot future market trends or opportunities and shape service direction.
* Remain current through exposure to service line developments and knowledge sharing; pursue professional development as appropriate.
* Identify and lead adoption of innovations and technology to meet future client needs.
* Maintain a professional public profile at all times.
Essential Experience And Attributes
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Commerce or Law with 15+ years of experience in top-tier consultancy or government agency.
* Demonstrated experience in successful transactions in Water, Energy, Transport (Road/Rail), or major building infrastructure.
* Deep knowledge of public sector procurement frameworks, particularly in Queensland.
* Strong understanding of risk allocation, commercial principles, and market dynamics.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities, with excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
* Proven ability to develop long-term business relationships with clients and industry partners.
* Superior written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate effectively at all levels.
