The Foreshore Hangout Lounge is looking for a confident, creative, and organised Assistant Venue Manager to join our team.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hospitality, leading a team, creating social media content, and keeping a busy venue running smoothly. You will support the Venue Manager and ownership team with daily operations, staff supervision, venue presentation, marketing content, and checklist follow-ups.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who is both practical and creative.
About the Role
As Assistant Venue Manager, you will help manage day‐to‐day venue operations, support staff during service, assist with social media and promotions, and ensure venue standards are maintained.
You will be expected to lead by example, communicate clearly with the team, follow up on tasks, and help create a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Venue Manager with daily venue operations.
* Supervise and guide front‐of‐house staff during shifts.
* Help maintain strong customer service standards.
* Follow up on cleaning, opening, closing, and operational checklists.
* Make sure venue presentation, cleanliness, and standards are maintained.
* Assist with social media posts, stories, reels, and basic promotional content.
* Help create simple graphics for events, food specials, drinks, and weekly promotions.
* Capture photos and videos of the venue, food, drinks, live music, and events.
* Help promote weekly specials, trivia nights, live music, DJ nights, Sunday sessions, and special events.
* Communicate staff, maintenance, customer, or presentation issues to management.
* Support the team during busy service periods.
* Help maintain a safe, clean, organised, and welcoming venue environment.
Social Media & Marketing
A big part of this role involves helping promote the venue online.
The successful applicant should be comfortable creating simple, engaging content for social media. You do not need to be a professional designer or marketing expert, but you should have a good eye for content and be confident using social media.
Experience with Canva, Instagram, Facebook, Meta Business Suite, CapCut, or similar tools would be highly regarded.
What We're Looking For
* Hospitality experience preferred.
* Previous supervisor or management experience highly regarded.
* Strong staff communication and leadership skills.
* Interest or experience in social media, reels, marketing, or basic graphic design.
* Confidence using tools such as Canva, Instagram, Facebook, or CapCut would be an advantage.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Reliable, organised, and able to follow up on tasks.
* Able to stay calm during busy service periods.
* Confident giving direction to staff.
* Pride in venue presentation, cleanliness, and customer service.
* Available to work nights, weekends, and event shifts.
* RSA required.
* Approved Manager certificate highly regarded, or willingness to obtain.

You are someone who can lead by example, stay calm under pressure, communicate well with staff, and take pride in how the venue looks and feels.
You are reliable, switched on, creative, and comfortable taking ownership of tasks. You understand that a great venue is built through good service, strong standards, consistent follow‐up, and smart promotion.
