Overview
As a Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist) you will collect blood and other specimens, keep meticulous records, and coordinate samples to ensure quality patient care. You will provide a friendly and caring customer experience while supporting the team and community.
Responsibilities
* Collect samples (blood and non‐blood) with care and attention
* Keep meticulous records for every patient and sample
* Deliver documentation within strict turnaround times
* Prepare and package specimens for transport and testing
* Liaise with a range of people including customers, clinic staff and couriers
Qualifications and Attributes
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy/ Certificate III in Pathology Collection or a healthcare background
* Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a high level of empathy
* Organised, with strong time management and attention to detail
* Ability to work autonomously and independently in a solo clinic
* Valid driver's licence and flexibility to travel to multiple clinics
* Working with Children's Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one
* Australian citizen or permanent resident or New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work
A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required for this role. You must either hold an existing WWCC or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
Vaccination Requirements
* Vaccine preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is a requirement of this role
* Other vaccinations based on location may be required/setting
