Volunteer Textile Sorter – Carole Park, QLD
Join the Salvation Army's first AI‐driven textile sorting & decommissioning initiative. As a volunteer, you will help divert textiles from landfills, supporting Queensland's commitment to ethical consumption and responsible waste management.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Assist in sorting, processing and organising donated textiles.
* Support the efficient flow of goods through the sorting process.
* Collaborate with team members to meet daily goals.
* Maintain general cleanliness and tidiness of the workspace while upholding safe and sustainable work practices.
* Immediately report any health and safety concerns, notifiable incidents and near‐misses to the operations manager and ensure hazards are controlled until rectified.
* Comply with all Salvation Army work, health and safety policies and procedures applicable to the workplace.

Qualifications & Requirements:
* Volunteers must be 15years of age or older.
* Must be able to comply with the Salvation Army's work, health and safety policies and procedures.
* All child‐related roles require a Working with Children Check.
* Certain volunteer roles may require a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
Eligibility and Commitment
This is a volunteer, unpaid role. No prior experience is required – training will be provided.
